Wheel of Time book 6
This page contains my lego fan art of The Wheel of Time, book 6: Lord of Chaos, by Robert Jordan. Robert Jordan has passed away, but he left an active fan community at Dragonmount, which is a great place to go for an introduction to the series.
Spoiler warning: spoilers through the end of the book.
You can view the artwork either through the gallery below or the individual image links just below the gallery. Below that, I have included a discussion of the lego build and some of the customization involved, followed by copyright and use information. If you're on mobile, the menus are at the bottom of the page.

About this build
The build itself took up most of a 6' x 6' table. The background photos are from Acadia National Park in Maine. Approximately 300 minifigures were used.
Customization: the various flags and Rand's hands were done with waterslide decals. The custom prints, such as some of the Wise One torsos, the Cairhienin torsos, the Siswai'aman heads, Perrin's head, Loial's head, and the Asha'man torsos were produced by digital UV printing (I used minifigFX for these). The Aiel buckler with spears elements are from BrickWarriors. The Winged Guard helmets are official lego elements that I painted.
Special effects: the smoke and fire in the tree tops were created using Photoshop. For the gateways, I digitally created a courtyard from "the farm" and rendered it in Blender. This allowed me to make multiple fine adjustments to the camera angle to try to match the photographed scene. I then inserted the renders into the photographed scene using Photoshop. The rolling ring of fire and earth was created using a 4D fire render in Blender with a transparent background, and I then overlaid it on the scene using Photoshop.
